Member build / Honda Civic Type R
An FN2 Type R with Tegiwa carbon, Mugen aero and a proper stance.
The build
When Honda launched the FN2 Civic, the motoring press couldn't decide whether it looked like an egg or a spaceship. Nearly two decades on, we reckon it's aged rather well - and Dan's has been sharpened from every angle, with the 2.0-litre i-VTEC K20 left alone to do what it does best, and that is letting the VTEC kick in (yo).
Up front is looking very sharp, with a Tegiwa vented carbon bonnet and a Mugen front grille, with a front bumper intake feeding cooler air in for some extra horsepower. The party continues round the back, with a Mugen rear wing and a GP-style diffuser finish the aero. She sits on white 17" Bola wheels, lowered 15mm - enough for a proper stance, not enough to ruin the front bumper on speed bumps.
Inside, a carbon steering wheel and a Mugen gear shifter carry the theme through to the cabin, with a JVC head unit handling the bangin' tunes. Updated injectors keep the K20's thirst satisfied. Egg, spaceship, or otherwise - this modified Type R has earned its spot at Barton.
